Open Project

Challenge

Understand potential cybersecurity risks.

Modern ships have become highly connected and dependent on computer systems. However, these systems are vulnerable to compromise – and this has led to some very expensive cybersecurity incidents at sea.

New cyber risk regulations take hold in January 2021, meaning operators need to comply with the rules or risk having their ships detained.

Neptune Cyber wanted to help both marine operators and non-technical people in the sector understand cyber risks more clearly and start to know how to mitigate them.

Solution

Fully interactive 3D model.

We created The Neptune Cyber: an interactive tool that enables visitors to understand maritime cyber risks while they click and drag to explore the ship.

Each interactive area on the interactive 3D model is mapped to the official guidelines on managing cyber risk.

TESTIMONIAL

Straight from the client:

''The virtual ship that the team at Vismedia created to explain cyber risk to senior decision makers in the marine sector has been massively successful for us. It received great coverage in trade press and continues to directly generate client enquiries from people that have used it, giving us a very positive return on investment.''
